You are doing your research, getting quotes from different sites, and of course you want to pick the highest quote you can get. But before you do so…

1. Make sure the site is reputable. A good indicator is the BBB accredited business seal. Most sites that are not BBB accredited will most likely renegotiate your quote upon receipt.

2. Make sure to pick a site that describes your model accurately. You should be able to either input your exact model number or the specification of you laptop. Getting a quote based only on the series of your laptop is a very rough quote. For example Sony VGN-AW series models range from $300 to $700, depending on the processor speed and/or storage capacity. Just by providing the specific model number (i.e. Sony VGN-AR630E) you can be sure that you will get an accurate quote on your laptop, and not just an estimate.

3. Provide the cosmetic condition description. If the site doesn’t not have an option to choose the cosmetic condition of your laptop, navigate away. This buyers do this on purpose so they can renegotiate your quote upon receipt. Also, navigate away from sites that state: “this quote is for a laptop that shows wear expected for its age”. This statement is just too general and opened to misrepresentations.

4. Try not to choose a site that advertises too much. Usually, the top 3 results (on Google with yellow background) are paid ads. If a business spend to much money in advertising, it won’t probably be able to pay you as much as you think.

5. Read the terms of service. In case you misrepresent your laptop condition and your quotes is renegotiated, you have to have to option to get your laptop back. Most websites will make you pay for the shipping expenses incurred.

So, look no further, CashYourLaptop.com is BBB accredited, gives you a quote based on you laptop’s specs (pulled from the exact model number), functionality, cosmetic condition and offers free shipping both ways. And at any time, for any reason, you can have your laptop shipped back to you at no cost. Plus, the quotes are guaranteed to be the highest on the online market.

CashYourLaptop.com will be under maintenance until 3/31/2010. We will be still operating but some pages might not be functional. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are adding new models to the database and redesigning the looks for the website in order to make it easier to read and understand.

Just a quick post here. First off, we apologize for all the inconvenience caused while our website was under maintenance. We have integrated a new database software that will allow us to give real time pricing quotes. Also, we have included a more detailed quotation form that will give you a more accurate quote based not only in your laptops specs and functionality, also it will be based on your laptop’s cosmetic condition. So no more misrepresentations. We encourage all visitors who are thinking in selling a laptop online, to find a service that allows you to give this specifications. A 2 or 3 question questionnaire is not going to give you an accurate quote. Instead, it will allow the mail-in buyer to renegotiate your quote upon arrival.

By the way, we are offering now free returns for misrepresentation issues. That means that if you misrepresented your laptop’s condition, and we make you a new offer after your laptop is tested, you may reject this new offer and we will send your laptop back at no cost to you. There would be exceptions though in the case that the misrepresentation is major, ex.: you chose excellent condition but your laptop has a broken lcd, :s does not power on, or shows heavy wear… you get the point. In this case then the shipping charges will have to be paid before we send your laptop back to you. Charges will vary depending on the package weight.

I have to mention also that there’s now live chat help during our business hours. The agents will answer ANY question you may have. They are all professionals in the industry. You can also request a live instant quote from them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

I guess this wasn’t a quick post after all :)

God bless.
